Parriss jewellers is a family owned business established in 1892. Now managed by the fourth generation of the family.

Joseph Parriss opened his first shop, Parriss Jewellers of Rugby Warwickshire, after completing his apprenticeship as a watchmaker. It was and still is fondly called The Clock , due to the large hanging clock above the premises.

His son Ernest, who also trained as a watchmaker, and wife Beatrice then opened their shop in Nuneaton Warwickshire, carrying on the family trade. In 1947, for health reasons, they moved to Sheringham Norfolk, for the freshness of the sea air and opened a shop in Station Road. Ernest was one of the most talented watchmakers in the country, and in his spare time invented the Rolling ball free pendulum clock which to this day can be seen in the Science Museum in London.

Ernest’s son Joe Parriss took over the business in 1960. Joe’s passion was for all things exquisite and beautifully crafted. This led him to significantly expand the range of jewellery available in the shop and after sometime he enlarged the premises in order to be able to stock the unique and unusual selection of items available to this day.

Today the business is run by Helen Parriss, daughter of Joe and great granddaughter to the founder of Parriss Jewellers. She continues to carry on the family tradition of quality jewellery, excellent personal service and friendly expert advice.

In 2008 we decided to embrace the Internet age and use it to sell and advertise our products to a much wider audience than just North Norfolk.

Helen’s buying style is influenced by quality, originality, desirability and value for money, all things that she herself requires in life. We believe that this is what sets Parriss Jewellers apart from the multiples, a desire to be unique and distinctive.

Our shop sells many more items than we are able to put onto the website, including antique clocks, fine Dresden porcelain, second hand and antique jewellery and watches, plus a larger selection of diamond and precious stone jewellery.
